The mighty Himalayas, a jewel of the diverse topography and fascinating culture makes Everest region no less than a trekker’s paradise. The insanely diverse trails bequeathed with delightful atmosphere and stunning panorama make this trek an unmatched journey. You will not only get a chance to explore valleys, forests, Himalayas and waterfalls but also, get the opportunity to learn about the culture of legendary Sherpas who reside on insane mountain structure of the region. 

On 12 days Everest View Trek, you will be hiking to an altitude of 12,694ft passing through the quaint villages, grassy paths, steep rocks and dense forest of Sagarmatha National Park (UNESCO protected sites of great natural value). You will be following the footsteps of legendary adventures and mountaineers like Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary. Nothing beats the feeling and thrills that hold the hikers walking towards Everest and watching it very close. 

Everest View Trek Route 

Our 12 days journey initiates after your arrival at Kathmandu followed by an exciting trans-Himalayan flight to Lukla airstrip. Enjoy the first glimpse of Everest from the land-handside seat of plane and experience a thrilling landing at Lukla airport. Then commence your trekking through magical forest, alongside gushing Dudh Koshi River, cross high suspension bridge several times and explore small farming villages. The first day of the trek ends at Phadking and the next day, you will push for Namche Bazaar walking through the steep mountain terrain and exploring Sherpa culture & traditions. 

Namche Bazaar is the largest town in the region and it surprisingly offers the facilities of bakeries, restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and more. You will spend one more night here to acclimatize your body at higher altitude. Your acclimatization day is not wasted, you will explore the local market and neary Sagarmatha National Park display center. 

Next day, you will hike to Khumjung village which houses age-old monasteries, school and museums - offering you plenty of local exploration opportunities. Once you head towards Tengboche, you will find the strong influence of Tibetan Buddhism in the form of Mani walls, chortens and shrines scattered all over the trail.

Once you reach the Tengboche, you will find yourself in the lap of mighty Ama Dablam, Nuptse-Lhotse and Everest. Tengboche houses the largest monastery of the region and the setting of the monastery on the back-drop of great Everest rage will truly mesmerize you. 

The returning journey takes three days of easy downhill hike overnight at different villages.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will be received by our airport representative who will escort you to the pre-booked hotel. After hotel check-in, you will take a rest for a while and explore the quaint streets of Thamel to get acquainted with the local environment and culture. Evening: enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant.

After breakfast, you will make a tour to several historical and religious sites in Kathmandu which are enlisted in UNESCO world heritage sites. You will visit the historic Durbar Square (ancient royal seat of Nepal), Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temple), Swayambhunath (2,000 year old monkey temple) and Boudhanath (largest Buddhist temple). Afternoon, you will get your equipment checked by trek leaders and get introduced to your fellow trekkers. Make sure you ask all the questions to your trek leader.

Early in the morning, you will drive to Tribhuvan Domestic Airport to catch a 40 min thrilling and adventurous flight to Lukla. During the flight, you will enjoy one of the most scenic air routes in the world culminating on a hillside surrounded by gigantic Himalayas. Lukla is a major gateway to Everest region, here you will meet the rest of the crew and start your trekking adventure. After one hour’s gradual descent, you will reach Cheplung village where you will get first glimpse of sacred Mt. Khumbila (18,900ft). From Cheplung, one hour of gradual downhill walk takes you to Phakding. It is a great place to acclimate your body.

Activity Duration3 - 4 hours trek
After breakfast, you will walk through astounding pine forest and walk on a northern trail up to the Benkar valley. Crossing Dudh Koshi River and walking across the village of Chumoa and Monjo, you will finally reach the Sagarmatha National Park. You will then cross a suspension bridge to reach Jorsale village and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River and Bhote Koshi River. A steep uphill climb for a few hours will take you to the village of Namche Bazaar. Weather permitting, Namche offers a good view of Mt. Everest and Lhotse.

Today you will take a rest day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize with the setting in high altitude. Mountain experts suggest staying active throughout the day: climb high and sleep low.

There are lots of things to do around Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a prosperous town in Khumbu region and houses governmental offices, ATMs, shops, restaurants and a colorful market. Your guide will help you explore the real charm of Namche Bazaar. You will then hike to Sagarmatha National Park which displays the highland flora and fauna and local culture. If you are interested, you can hike to Khumjung village (12,401ft) which offers a more traditional view of Sherpa culture and tradition.

After breakfast, your journey begins with a climb up to the popular airstrip at Syangboche, located just above the Everest View Hotel where you can enjoy the close view of mighty Everest. After exploration, you will continue walking to Khumjung village which is surrounded by Kondge, Thamserku and the sacred Khumbila mountains. Here you will visit Khumjung village which houses scalp Yeti and Edmund Hillary School.

Today, you will walk downhill to Dudh Koshi River and walk through stunning villages enroute. Walking continuously through a forested trail, you will reach the riverbed. From here, you will climb for two more hours through pine and fir forest to reach the village of Tengboche. Tengboche houses the largest gompa of the entire Khumbu region and offers the remarkable views of Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Everest.

From Tengboche, a steep downhill walk for about 1,500ft/500m through rhododendron and fir trees takes you to the Dudh Koshi River. You will then continue further and pass Tashinga and Sansa villages before reaching Kyangjuma. Here, you will get to enjoy the excellent view of Ama-Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest.

Today you will have to reach Namche Bazaar first then continue to Monjo. The trail crosses the wooded slope and climbs through snaky tracks to the lush rhododendron forest. Look out for exotic wildlife - mountain goats, snow leopard, pheasants etc. A steep downhill hike takes you to the bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and crosses the river two times to reach Monjo.

Today the trail goes steeply down before it reaches the airstrip in Chauri Kharka. On the way, you will walk across the village of Phakding and Chopling. A final 45 min climb takes you to the small strip of Lukla.

Today is your last day in the Khumbu region. You will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu to conclude your trip. Our airport representative will transfer you back to the hotel. After lunch, you can stroll around the streets of Thamel, a famous Tourist hub in Kathmandu. Evening: you will attend the farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of your journey.
