If there’s any classic trek in Nepal, then it has to be Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a great mountain hike through diverse terrain and culture adorned with majestic mountain vistas, terraced fields, ancient villages and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) is the 10th tallest peak in the world and hiking to its base camp is a journey of lifetime. ABC is alpine in the purest sense - with skydominating peaks, glaciers and permanent snow fields, all nestled under a star-studded sky.

There are very few treks in Nepal that incorporates so many landscapes and takes you so close to the foot of gigantic peaks without forcing you to push your limits. This remarkable trail will appease both novice and experienced trekkers.

ABC trail takes you through a variety of terrain, gushing rivers, sub-tropical forest and alpine plains   . You will hike through daunting pinnacles, deep forests, windswept craters, glacial lakes and snow-capped peaks.

The beauty of the trek is further glorified with the presence of fascinating heritage sites, delightful villages, and warm people residing in the region. Hindu (Brahman and Chhetri) along with Buddhist farmers inhabit the lower reaches of the region. As you gain elevation, Hindu and Buddhist communities give way to Tibeto-Berman Groups: the Magar (known for their skill in craftsmanship of stone and wood) and Gurung (descendant of Tibetan who farm and tend sheep). The tempting architecture of these groups and enthralling hospitality of the people add great dimension to the trek.

The teahouse along the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Route well-panders its visitors with extensive menus and well-furnished rooms. Hot showers are readily available but you have to pay extra.
