Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek is probably the best accessible high altitude trek in Nepal. This trek is the perfect amalgamation of three majestic attractions: mountain views, intriguing culture and magical floral & faunal species. Trekkers will be rewarded with an opportunity to explore high Himalayan pass, pristine valley and diverse ethnic culture along with alpine glacial lakes.

Langtang Region is the 3rd most sought trekking destination in Nepal after its companion Everest and Annapurna. It is the closest hiking region from capital and straddles its border to the high plateau of Tibet. Langtang Region is often dubbed as the best kept Himalayan secret of Nepal: thanks to its intact hiking tracks and numbers of unclimbed mountain peaks.

Despite being close to Kathmandu, Langtang region remains relatively unspoiled and untouched compared to its other trekking region of Nepal. Few days of hike through lush forest and quaint villages will take you to the grand pastureland of Kyangjin Gompa. Exploring the Gompa and nearby Tresko Ri Hill, you will hike further to the Gosakinkunda lake with magical Himalayan  view on either direction. After Gosainkunda, you will cross a high mountain pass and hike down to the cultural village of Helambu.

The mystic lake of Gosainkunda is one of the most sacred Pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. Hindu believes this lake as the sacred abode of mighty lord Shiva and Gauri. Legend has it that the lake was created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (Trident) into the mountain to extract water so that he could quench the thirst created by swallowing the poison.

Walking across the high pass of Lauribuna at 4,620m with the magical view of arid Tibetan plateau is dramatic. Once you enter the Helambu region, you will get to explore Tamang culture, their lifestyle and agricultural practices.

During the entire trek, you will spend overnight at local teahouse which offers you first-hand experience of Himalayan culture and lifestyle. We ensure you that this trek will be full of Himalayan and cultural experience.

Pashupatinath:

Pashupatinath is one of the sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, nestled along the bank of holy Bagmati River. Though Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main gate of the temple, you can clearly see the entire temple structure and the activities from the eastern bank of the river. This temple is a two-tiered pagoda built on a single-tier plinth which is auspicious for Hindus around the whole world.

Boudhanath Stupa

Boudhanath is one of the sacred Buddhist sites in Kathmandu which was built in the 5th century. This incredible stupa has four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions which keep eye on the people and their doings. At Stupa, you will find many Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the Stupa spinning the prayer wheels.

Swayambhunath

Swayambhunath, 2000 years old monkey temple, is nestled on a small hillock to the northwest of Kathmandu valley. This ancient stupa offers the dramatic view of Kathmandu valley and surrounding hilly landscapes. Swayambhunath is known as a hallmark of faith and harmony for centuries with Hindus temples and deities blend perfectly with Buddhist sites. You can see both Hindus and Buddhists performing their rituals with mutual harmony and understanding.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Located at the heart of Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square is an ancient royal seat of Nepal. Here you will be fascinated with the delightful art and paintings that perfectly portray the ancient history of Nepal. Apart from ancient heritage sites, you will get to meet the living goddess of Nepal – Kumari.

After a brief exploration of these sites, you will drive back to the hotel and make necessary preparation for the next day’s trip. Our experienced trek leader will help you get prepared for the trip.
